UV-Stabilised HDPE Fabric Grow Bags for Commercial Horticulture
Skytech Ultrafab Green HDPE Grow Bags are manufactured from woven high-density polyethylene (HDPE) fabric with UV stabilisation for use in commercial nurseries, horticulture farms, kitchen gardening, and terrace gardens. The woven HDPE fabric provides superior root aeration and drainage compared to standard plastic pots — preventing root circling, promoting healthy feeder root development, and extending productive plant life. Available in a wide range of capacities from 1 litre to 1000 litres for plants of all types and sizes.
What Is an HDPE Grow Bag?
An HDPE Grow Bag is a flexible planting container fabricated from woven high-density polyethylene fabric instead of rigid plastic or terracotta. The woven fabric structure allows air to penetrate the root zone from the sides and bottom of the bag — a feature known as air-pruning. When roots reach the porous bag wall, they are air-pruned rather than circling around the pot interior, stimulating the plant to produce more feeder roots in the remaining soil volume. The result is a denser, more fibrous root system that absorbs water and nutrients more efficiently.

Features and Benefits
-
UV-Stabilised HDPE Fabric:
Woven HDPE fabric with UV stabilisation additive maintains structural integrity and colour in outdoor conditions for 3–5 years — far longer than standard PE film grow bags that degrade in one season
-
Excellent Root Aeration:
Woven fabric allows air circulation through the pot wall — prevents anaerobic conditions in the root zone that cause root rot in solid plastic pots
-
Superior Drainage:
Water drains freely through the fabric base and sides — eliminates waterlogging that kills plants in impermeable plastic containers
-
Air-Pruning Benefit:
Roots reaching the fabric wall are air-pruned naturally — stimulates branching root development that increases nutrient and water uptake compared to circling root systems in solid pots
-
Reinforced Handles:
Strong woven HDPE handle straps on each bag allow repositioning of full, heavy bags without tipping — essential for commercial nursery plant movement and retail display management
-
Wide Capacity Range:
1 litre to 1000 litre bags cover seedling plugs through large ornamental trees — full horticultural range from one supplier

Applications
-
Commercial Nurseries:
Container growing of ornamental plants, shrubs, and trees for retail sale — HDPE grow bags provide healthier root systems than plastic pots and display well on nursery benches
-
Vegetable and Fruit Farming:
Commercial production of tomatoes, capsicum, cucumbers, and strawberries in grow bags on raised structures — grow bags allow high-density planting and substrate replacement between crops
-
Terrace and Roof Gardens:
Light-weight flexible grow bags are safer than heavy ceramic or concrete pots on structural roof gardens — no cracking or tipping risk, easy repositioning for seasonal sun tracking
-
Hydroponic Systems:
Grow bags filled with coir, perlite, or rockwool as substrate containers in drip-fed and nutrient film hydroponic systems — fabric allows oxygenation of the root zone
-
Kitchen Gardening:
Home vegetable and herb cultivation in limited balcony, terrace, or courtyard spaces — compact grow bags available for individual herb and vegetable plants in small quantities
