What Is a Leaf Filter Bag?

A Leaf Filter Bag is a fabric envelope that fits over the metal or wire-mesh leaf frame inside a pressure leaf filter vessel. As process liquid is pumped into the vessel under pressure, it passes through the bag fabric, depositing solids as a filter cake on the outer surface. The filtrate collects inside the bag and drains through the leaf outlet. The bag must provide precise particle retention, withstand the hydraulic pressure of the process, and release the accumulated cake cleanly during discharge.
