Precision SS Filter Cages for Extended Bag and Cartridge Filter Life
Skytech Ultrafab SS Filter Cages are the structural support backbone for cylindrical bag filter elements in pulse-jet and reverse-air baghouse dust collectors. Manufactured from SS 304 or galvanised carbon steel wire with fully welded, smooth longitudinal and ring wires, they prevent filter bags from collapsing inward under negative pressure while withstanding thousands of high-pressure cleaning pulses without fatigue failure.
What Is an SS Filter Cage?
An SS Filter Cage is a welded wire frame inserted inside a cylindrical dust collection bag or cartridge filter element. The cage prevents the filter medium from collapsing under the suction pressure differential across the bag during filtration. During cleaning, the cage also absorbs the pressure wave from the compressed-air pulse, preventing the bag from over-expanding and fatiguing the fabric seam. A well-made cage is essential for maximising bag service life.
SS Filter Cages
Features and Benefits
-
SS 304 Wire Construction:
Longitudinal and ring wires fabricated from SS 304 — provides superior corrosion resistance in humid, chemically active, and moisture-laden gas streams
-
Smooth Welded Joints:
All wire intersections resistance-welded and smooth-finished — sharp weld protrusions that abrade and cut bag fabric from the inside are eliminated
-
Venturi Top:
Integrated venturi nozzle at the cage top optimises the dynamics of the compressed-air cleaning pulse for maximum dust cake dislodgement with minimum compressed-air consumption
-
Snap-Ring or Plain Top:
Snap-ring tops for standard pulse-jet filter plates; plain top for reverse-air and other non-snap-ring baghouse configurations — both designs available
-
Custom Dimensions:
Any diameter from 100 mm to 300 mm and any length from 2 m to 10 m fabricated to the exact specification of any baghouse brand or custom design
-
Galvanised Option:
Hot-dip galvanised carbon steel cages available for general-duty ambient-temperature applications where cost is the primary consideration

Applications
-
Cement Plants:
Supporting polyester, Nomex, and PTFE bags in raw mill, cement mill, and clinker cooler baghouses at high temperatures and dust loads
-
Steel & Foundry:
Cage frames for high-temperature EAF and blast furnace fume filter bags where dimensional stability under thermal cycling is critical
-
Power Generation:
Supporting fly-ash collection bags in coal-fired power station pulse-jet baghouses — the highest-volume single application globally
-
Chemical Industry:
SS 316L cages for chemically aggressive gas streams where carbon steel or SS 304 would corrode within the service life of the filter bag
-
Pharmaceutical & Food:
Smooth-finished SS cages for product-contact or hygienic dust collection applications requiring easy cleaning and corrosion resistance
Why Choose Skytech Ultrafab for SS Filter Cages?
-
Matched to Your Bags:
Cages fabricated to the exact inside diameter and length of the bags already installed — correct fit eliminates bag abrasion and fabric bridging failure modes
-
Full Corrosion Protection:
SS 304 and SS 316L options for wet or chemically active gas streams; galvanised for dry, ambient-temperature economy applications
-
OEM Replacement Capability:
Any existing cage from any baghouse brand or OEM can be cross-referenced and replicated at a significantly lower cost than OEM spare parts
-
Fast Production:
Standard diameter cages produced in 7–10 working days; large-diameter and non-standard pitch cages in 12–15 working days
-
Bulk Pricing:
