Precision SS Comill Screens for Consistent Granule and Powder Sizing
Skytech Ultrafab CO-Mill Screens are engineered for use in conical mills (comills) widely used in pharmaceutical tablet manufacturing, nutraceuticals, and fine chemical processing. Available in round-hole perforated, grater-hole (rasp), square-hole, and wire-mesh constructions in SS 316L, they deliver precise particle size reduction and are manufactured to exact OEM dimensions for Quadro Comil, Frewitt, LB Bohle, Shakti, and all other major comill brands.
What Is a CO-Mill Screen?
A CO-Mill (Conical Mill) Screen is a precision-fabricated stainless steel screen that surrounds the rotating impeller inside a conical mill. As material is fed into the mill, the impeller forces particles against the screen apertures — particles smaller than the aperture pass through while oversize particles are continuously recirculated until milled to the correct size. The screen aperture shape and size directly determine the final particle size distribution of the milled product.

Features and Benefits
-
SS 316L Material:
All screens fabricated from SS 316L (or SS 304 on request) to meet pharmaceutical product-contact material requirements under 21 CFR Part 211 and EU GMP
-
Multiple Aperture Types:
Round-hole, grater (rasp), square-hole, and wire-mesh aperture styles available — each produces a different particle shape and size distribution
-
Precise Aperture Sizing:
Laser-cut or electro-polished apertures machined to ±0.05 mm tolerance for consistent batch-to-batch particle size control
-
OEM-Compatible Dimensions:
Fabricated to exact outer diameter, cone angle, and fixing hole dimensions of Quadro Comil, Frewitt, LB Bohle, Shakti, and all other standard comills
-
Electropolished Finish:
EP (electropolished) finish reduces surface roughness to Ra ≤ 0.4 µm — prevents product adhesion and simplifies cleaning validation under pharmaceutical GMP
-
Crevice-Free Construction:
Seamless bending and edge finishing eliminates crevices where product could accumulate between batches — essential for multi-product pharmaceutical facilities
